Many believe college is not what its cracked up to be, including Bill Gross

Many media reports are starting to cover the story of "college- a waste of time.". Here is an article by leading investment guru Bill Gross where he says a similar statement. I do tend to agree with him. If college education is going to be a worthwhile cost for our youth, one needs to study a technical discipline so as to learn skills that will be in demand upon graduation and in the future. Many people select majors that are not applicable to the real world and  are then shocked at the disappointing truth that there are no high paying jobs in the economy for their particular field. College should be for the top academic students of our nation, not for 70% of our nation's youth. If this trend continues the outcome will be what many are facing now: large debt and no fruit at the end of the path
